What the code tells you

  • Fuel trim / system monitoring detected a lean condition on bank 1.

What it does not tell you

  • That P1000 is caused by a vacuum leak in every case.

Diagnostic direction

  1. 1

Diagnose P0171 with Ford fuel-system procedures if it is stored or pending.

  2. 2

A fuel-system fault can keep related monitors from completing; that is still not what P1000 itself identifies.
